Front Garden near Chepstow

The front garden of a terraced house like this one near Chepstow can be enjoyed by passers by as much as by the owners each time they leave and enter the house. The working couple here wanted a little more privacy from the street, some seasonal interest and the chance to grow herbs on this south-facing slope. They had little time for hands-on work in the garden, including watering, so plants needed to be relatively drought-tolerant. Also, as relatively inexperienced gardeners they asked for guidance on when and how to do any essential maintenance.
